Paragliding in the Dolomites

On 17th May, Ben and I are driving to the Dolomites in Italy to fly our paragliders in the GIN Wide Open Competition. Neither of us have ever flown in a competition before but this is billed as a FUN comp so our aim is to enjoy it and learn as much as possible. We will be sleeping under the stars and getting lots of fresh air. Lets hope the sun shines!

We warmed up on Saturday 20th April driving to Nant-y-Moel in Wales for the first round of the British Club Challenge. This is a friendly competition between the UK paragliding clubs to see which club can fly the furthest! Despite the skies looking very promising I only managed to fly 17.5kms not quite reaching Peny Fan in the Brecon Beacons. Seven clubs were taking part and our club (Sky Surfers) managed to come a very respectable 3rd place). Please see some photos of the day below
